I've realized I actually enjoy cleaning the car. Which is great, because I'll have to clean it in a week anyway.

I wish I could take my front plate off. But, what with the occasional speed limit misunderstanding and exposed rally lights, I don’t want to up the heat score of my car.

Cleaning the car, you get to bond differently to your car from just driving it.
You get to know it’s curves and graces, make a mental inspection in every pass of the mitt, etc...
Really appreciate the car.

Not only that, but cleaning has so many practical upsides. When else do you look your car over, literally every square inch?
I look for wear, damage, corrosion, discoloration or anything that might be a red flag. Keeping a car clean allows for parts to function properly, easier to see out the windows and, in my opinion , is less of a target for traffic enforcement.

So true. Over the years it’s allowed me to point out so many things for the owner to address before it became much more of an issue such as low car batteries, faulty sensors, damaged panels, worn or damaged tyres, chipped or cracked windows, leaks, not to mention the many deep scratches, scu ffs and tears.
Stuff where the owner has said, 'how the hell did you see/find that!?'.
